Changing Your Password
eTIMS®
is equipped with passwords to provide security for your User ID and for
the system. It is mandatory for users to change their passwords
every 65 days, but users are allowed to change their passwords at any
time when logging in.
When setting up passwords, the following guidelines should be
noted:
- Are not case sensitive.
- Must be 5 to 8
characters long.
- Can be alpha, numeric
or a combination of alpha/numeric characters.
- Cannot contain
consecutive identical characters (i.e., green, football).
- Cannot be the same
as or similar to your name, User ID or current password.
- Cannot be re-used
for at least one year.
Note:
- In the event that
your password is about to expire or has expired, a warning message will
display in the Log In page prompting you to change your password after
logging in.
To change your password:
- Type in the User ID assigned
to you by your system administrator in the User ID field if it
does not already appear.
- Type in your current password
in the Old Password field.
- Type in your new password in
the New Password field.
- Re-type your new password in
the Confirm Password field.
- Click on the Change Password
button to save your new password and go to the Search page or click
on the Cancel button to return to the Log In page.
- Click on the Help command
in the upper right corner of the page to see Help contents.
- Click the X button in
the upper right corner of your page to return to your desktop without
logging in to eTIMS®.
Notes:
- Never write down your
password.
- Always change your
password if you believe that it has been compromised.
- eTIMS®
maintains a list of commonly used words that are unacceptable as passwords
(i.e., parking, tickets).
- If you forget your
password or your password needs to be reset, call the Network Control
Center at 1-800-933-4672.
