Making a Payment

eTIMS® allows authorized users to record payments for one or more tickets as well as any fees assessed against a license plate or driver’s license.  Authorized users may also backdate payments.

Making a Payment:

  1. To Quick Process payments for a class of tickets:
    1. Click on the radio button to select or de-select a class of tickets to process.
    2. Use the drop down box to select the Payment processing function.
    3. Click on the Quick Process button to display the Payment processing page.  The page will refresh with the Payment Request page and all selected ticket numbers will be listed.
  2. To select all tickets in the Ticket Information area for processing action or review:
    1. Click on the all box.
    2. Click on the Clear box to de-select all tickets.
    3. Use the drop down box in the lower left corner of the page to select the Payment processing function.
    4. Click on the Process Selected Items button.  The page will refresh with the Payment Request page and all selected ticket numbers will be listed.
  3. To select specific tickets for processing action or review:
    1. Click on the checkbox(es) to the left of the ticket number(s).
    2. Click on the checkbox(es) a second time to de-select the ticket.
    3. Use the drop down box in the lower left corner of the page to select the Payment processing function.
    4. Click on the Process Selected Items button.  The page will refresh with the Payment Request page and all selected ticket numbers will be listed.
  4. To process a payment on the Payment Request page:
    1. Use the drop down box to select the method of payment.  The method of payment will default to Cash.
    2. Use the drop down box to select the source of the payment (where the payment was received).  The payment source will default to Cashiering.  
    3. eTIMS® assumes that the entire Amount Due will be paid and therefore displays the ticket amounts in the data entry box.  Overtype the amount to be paid in the Payment data entry boxes if the customer wishes to pay less than the total amount due.  Use the scroll bar on the right side of the page to view additional tickets.  
    4. Click on the Cancel button to end the transaction and return to the Summary page.
    5. Click on the Validate button to refresh the data on the page.
    6. Click on the Process Payment button to complete the payment transaction.   The page will refresh with the Payment Confirmation page.  
  5. To backdate a payment:
    1. Overtype the month, day and year in the Cash Number data entry field.  Client business rules determine how many days a payment can be backdated.
    2. Follow the steps above to process the payment.
  6. Click on the Print Confirmation button to print confirmation that the payment was successfully updated to eTIMS®.  The Payment Confirmation will print on your assigned printer.
  7. To select another processing function:
    1. Use the drop down box to Choose Additional Process.
    2. Click on the Go button.  The page will be refreshed with the selected processing page.
  8. Click on the Ticket Management tab to return to the Ticket Management page.
  9. Click on the Customer Detail tab to view the Customer Detail page.
  10. Click on the Fee History tab to view the Fee History page.
  11. Click on the Search tab to search for another record.
  12. Click on the Home command in the upper right corner of the page to return to the Home page.
  13. Click on the Help command in the upper right corner of the page to see Help contents.
  14. Click on the Log Out command in the upper right corner of the page to end your eTIMS® session.
  15. To fast path to another eTIMS® subsystem, use the drop down box in the upper right corner to select a subsystem.  Click on the Go button to display the selected subsystem menu.
